Density altitude: hot, high and humid

Your wing and your engine need air. The less dense the air, the less lift your wing makes at the same speed and the less power your engine delivers.

How dense the air is depends on pressure and temperature. Pilots put it as an altitude: the density altitude. It is the altitude in the standard atmosphere where the air is as dense as where you are now.
