The traffic circuit
The circuit is a rectangle around the runway that everyone flies the same way. That way you know where other traffic is, and they know where you are.
It has five legs, in the order you fly them: upwind after take-off, crosswind across the runway direction, downwind parallel to the runway, base across again, and final straight towards the runway.
