The phonetic alphabet
On the radio many letters sound alike, such as B, D, E, P and T. So you spell with the international phonetic alphabet: every letter has a fixed word, from Alfa to Zulu.
Mind the spelling: ICAO writes Alfa with an f and Juliett with a double t, so that everyone says them right, also people who do not speak English.
